basketball

This is a late new years revolution that I just came up with while studying the ever so boring n dry motivation and emotion exam =_= Just to make things clear, the reason y I wanna start playing basketball got nothing to do with Jay Chou or the latest movie he’s in aka Kung Fu Dunk. Of course I wanna keep fit la, but i also want to keep in touch with old high school friends thru playing coz they do meet up once in a while to play basketball and i think that’s kinda a good way to keep in touch rite =) And one more thing, i wanna get a bit tanned if possible coz i’m so… sooooooooo white omg. The reason i chose basketball over other sports… the main reason is because its affordable, unlike golf… i hate golf… look at the ball to field ratio la the golf ball is like so freakin tiny and the field is so freaking huge. Here’s some pictures to illustrate my point haha

And another one…

I didn’t zoom out or in ya know look at the difference xD

So now my plan is depending on next semester’s timetable, i’ll pick the weekday off day morning to go practice with doraemon Han who is slightly less noob than me bahahaha.

So today morning I went to practice, the first hour was just normal free throw practice, but then Han taught me a very nice way of throwing and i think i manage to have a 20% hit rate wey not bad rite rite rite *_*

p/s: Pictures taken from Google Earth so don’t sue me la yadi yada zzz

election flags

How low can they go? now that’s an interesting question for a lot of politicians. Now I don’t mind seeing politicians doing some last minute work by going to the market and shaking hands with people la cause that’s what they do best anyway. And as we all know a couple of weeks before election the streets would be filled with posters and banners etc of different parties that make your eyes blind, give you a seizure and increase your probability of having a car accident cause you don’t know whether u should laugh at the poster (see below) or focus on driving.

Not i censor 1 la somebody poured paint on the guy’s face lol

Just a few days ago while I was watching the news on TV they showed this piece of meat politician going around the local market giving out “gifts”, which consist of hats and pens and stuffs to the locals and basically trying to win their votes la. So i’m guessing this fella got a bit tired after walking around with his gifts and all, then he meets this lady carrying a 1~2 year old boy, so with his politician instinct, he went up to them and hug the baby or shake the lady’s hand or something la. And then he did something I find pretty despicable, he used his hands and placed a BN flag on the little boy’s hands, and obviously the little boy has no idea who d heck he is and what’s his purpose la, but to exploit a child’s innocence to advertise himself and win votes like that is just plain disgusting. This is exactly the question I wanna ask, how much lower can these people go anyway, do u have to be so despo and exploit a child like that. I searched through the internet and old newspaper just to find this bastard’s name and picture, here he is..

That piece of meat on the right, his name is 李崇孟

I know i’m over reacting a bit and i bet a lot of politicians do that but still i just wanna bloody kutuk him, that’s the least i can do for that little boy.

Wayang Kulit/Skin theater O.o?

Yea la i know its not skin theater la so weird la in english. Anyway, went to this wayang kulit on Saturday with minyi and sii ying, apparently its performed by 1st year students of the school of performance and media. According to minyi its her roommate’s practical exam, damn scary wey it’s like showing ur exam paper to an audience of 30+… I don’t want that to happen to me =_=

Anyway, before i went in i was kinda expected to be blur through out the whole show but i was damn bangga of myself coz my BM suxxors but but but i kinda understood the whole story wey huhuhu well except for the ending. It’s a story of a prince going to further his studies with his 2 followers but he faced challenges along the way before he reached his destination. 2 students performed and one used a mixture of malay and english to act while another only used english. After that the master himself finished off the story in malay. There’s a combination of adventure and plenty of comedy la of coz i enjoyed the comedy part more xD the action wasn’t really my type =_= keris only wey mana siok. It’s the first time i’m watching a wayang kulit don’t think it’ll be my last =D here’s some pics woohoo…

p/s: no i’m not feeling guilty even though exams are days away xD

Pre-election fever

As y’all know, i hope y’all know, the 12th election is coming soon! and this time things look quite promising for the opposition. Instead of 3 cornered fights (BN vs Opposition vs Opposition), now the opposition finally worked together and most of the fights are one on one (BN vs opposition). Somehow i find all these election fever quite interesting, especially those thick skinned politicians starts donating stuffs and making their appearance in all kinds of charity events even though a couple of months ago they were no where in sight when u complain and protest like there’s no tomorrow. If u read the newspapers these days u’ll get what i mean ;)

Here’s some funny videos about recent happenings in M’sia

Just a quick one

I know I shouldn’t be talking crap right now but just in case I forget… So wordpress got this function where you can see how people stumble upon your blog and all, which means for example if you google for my name on google and u find my blog, in my blog stats there it will state that somebody googled for “lim yong long” to find this blog la. Lately I’ve been getting a lot of “lee nian ning”s, and i mean a LOT. Anyways that’s not the point here, a few days ago I blogged about semi value lar, so so today as I check my blog stat and I saw someone googled for “KILL SEMI VALUE” and found my blog!! HAHHAHAHAHHAHAA People actually search for that on Google wey HAHAHAHHA. Heard from Ms Cool she said her taxi driver actually attended a funeral-like ceremony for Semi Value, he’s not even dead yet and people are already preparing/celebrating for his death! Man I’m starting to love M’sia xD in a wrong way hahahaha

Anyway I tried to find a picture i saw last time showing semi value spoon feeding (i think he was using his hand) to feed either Mahathir or Abdullah i can’t remember, too bad I can’t find the pic haha. Instead found this damn funny semi value quote blog entry.

Good luck to all psychos in exam! One more week left!

Btw…

Bad choice of words

I can’t help but laugh at this statement made by our infamous semi value… article can be read HERE. Of all the words he can possibly use why does he have to be so barbaric and associate an election with war xD I personally believe the media purposely used his exact words and highlighted what he said, it is like a subtle way to laugh at his poor vocabulary.

“I have solved every problem of the community”

A person that uses absolutes in his words is a pretty shallow person, how could a person possibly be so confident that he solved EVERY problem in that town. His ego is damn over inflated la but somehow i just love to see him talk nonsense, its good entertainment most of the time xD

Here’s another 1…

“A woman 50 years ag, she looks beautiful, but today she won’t look so beautiful.” – Sammy Vellu (May 2007)

Work Minister, Datuk Seri S Samy Vellu draw a parallel between the dilapidated state of the 43 year old Parliament House which is in need of maintenance and renovation to the looks of a woman of 50 years.

This is not the first time the Minister has made such statements. In October 2005, the Minister has made such statements. In October 2005, he was quoted to have compared “toilets to new brides”

This is really what he said, check ur old newspaper xD So we can sort of conclude he has quite a poor taste in metaphors rite lol.

Single Awareness Day/Valentines Day

Ok I had to admit I suck at blogging bout my daily life cause somehow i got the gift to make my life appear incredibly dull and boring. So bear with me as i try to be interesting and talk like a celebrity blogger as if my life is so happening and all.

So today is the day almost all of us fear, the big V day, couples worry bout it cause they probably need to prepare a gift for their partners while being original at the same time. On the other hand, singles need to go thru the whole day looking at couples being happy and all dressed up in the same matching clothes. I do think that everyone would unconsciously try to look better than usual on vday, even for myself this morning I took a few minutes extra just to find a better looking shirt, and wore my lovely new jeans T_T imma be in love with this jean. I didn’t take a pic of me in my jeans la of coz if not i’ll be aiming the camera at my groin for god sake, and i got a prob of taking a full body pic of myself coz i’ll get depressed looking at the picture, u don’t want me to be depressed do u? *_*

Anyway, since people seems to love gossip entries, i shall not waste the scene that i saw today. This story is part of the never ending story of the migraine patient whom i came across today at the com lab printing something. She was unsure about the printer setting and all for printing an A3 sized poster, so she asked the IT guy to help change the setting, and apparently the IT guy wasn’t so sure himself so it took him a while to configure the settings. As he was doing it, she did the infamous move again, the “i’m-an-8-year-old-gal-and-the-way-i-persuade-ppl-is-to-shake-their-shoulders-and-mak- whinny-sounds” move, she did that once at a VERY VERY bad time and i was pretty shocked the first time she did it. She was juz shaking that poor IT guy while he was trying to help her, i bet any1 would feel uncomfortable in that kind of position.

Anyway after she printed her stuff she helped out a jr who was printing some stuffs there, yes i know, she helped wtf dei. So as i passed by their com i got a bit curious so asked what’s wrong la, so she was like putting one of her tentacles on my shoulder n said in Taiwanese mandarin accent “Suai ge(leng zai wtf), do u know what’s her(jr) problem” I was thinking wtf the way she call me make me feel so fugly n stuff, creating the absolute opposite effect of a compliment wtf. Then I froze in disgust for a while and ran away O_O

Went to Pyramid after that for movie n lunch @ Carl’s junior (pay me plz i’m advertising the restaurant and i have an average of 15 viewers per day wtf) Anyway here’s some pics, picture sponsored by Cassie, cheer up gal ;) ..

The 1 in orange is a stranger wtf
Cassie, Minyi n Sii Ying (see la we’re advertising the fries somemore pay me plz)
Okay I have no idea what went wrong here, i look so sipet lanci in this pic even Nisha looked afraid of me, Nisha wey. Even the way i hold the burger is fugly
After lunch we sneaked unauthorized stuffs into the cinema without being noticed, wah sound so dam cool even though its just some outside drinks. The movie was kinda confusing, not sure what msg is it trying to send, and the scenes tend to skip and leaving some gaps here n there. If i were to criticize any further i think some crazy jay chou fan will try to assassinate me. lalala

None the less, for me today’s the kind of day that when u look at the mirror before u go to bed, u can’t help but smile just a bit =)

Pet Behavioral Poster

I made this poster myself and my mommy says its very pwetty coz it got horsies on it and there’s also a pwetty lady in it and and … jk lar plz. Anyway, this is a poster for our pet behavioral studies project, its suppose to help raise awareness on animal assisted therapy. Since we need to quote from journals and researches by other people, I can only manage to stick to animal assisted therapy coz the rest are plain hard to find journals. And since there’s already a lot of journals and researches on dogs in animal assisted therapy, so I thought i’ll try to do something on horsies. Horse assisted therapy looks quite promising actually, so hope it raised ur awareness la ok babai xD

“All for the sake of winning votes” by WONG CHUN WAI

This is a very good article about politics in general, quite easy to understand and what he’s saying is quite true also lol.

Come the general election, there is an unusual degree of tolerance and flexibility in matters of race, language and religion as politicians try to woo the people. Why can’t it be like this every day?

IT doesn’t look like it will happen in Malaysia for a long, long time. The world is currently glued to the US presidential elections where the front-runners in the primaries include an African-American and a woman.

The Americans do not care if their candidate is black, yellow or white as long as he or she is the right person. Their supporters comprise Americans of all races and gender. Throughout the campaign, candidates have so far managed to stay clear from race and gender.

More important, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, both Democrats, have debated in a civil and intelligent manner, focusing on substantial issues.

Young Malaysians following the race must have surely asked when our politicians would live up to such qualities.

For a start, those who have overstayed must know when to leave.

Most of the voters are finding it difficult to swallow the argument put up by these leaders that they still need time to carry out their work.

Surely, they can’t expect us to believe them after holding on to their posts for decades.

Used to walking the corridors of power and enjoying the prestige and perks that come with their positions, many find it hard to be like us, ordinary Malaysians, again.

The thought of not seeing their names and pictures in the newspapers must be difficult to fathom.

By clinging on to their posts, it is also an insult to their party members because the impression, which they like to create, is that no one else is suitable to take over.

No one else seems good enough to fill their shoes. You find these politicians on both sides of the political divide; they seem to be there forever.

Then there are those who have had their chances. They had served in various capacities but had to quit in the most controversial situations.

Now in their 60s, the age when most Malaysians are thinking of spending time with their grandchildren and watching the sunset with their loved ones, they dream of staging a comeback.

Some of these figures do not even know how to surf the Internet and have no inkling of what young people are saying about them in cyberspace.

They probably assume that the new voters, like their grandchildren, have forgotten the trouble they had landed themselves into, or the huge embarrassment they had caused their party.

Their renewed ambitions must be difficult for the younger leaders in the party, especially those in their 40s and 50s, who have worked faithfully and are waiting in the wings.

Then there are one or two Mentris Besar or Chief Ministers.

It’s amazing how some of them seem to assume that their respective states are their personal fiefdoms.

They show their displeasure at even the slightest suggestion that they ought to contest a parliamentary seat.

They lobby to remain at their posts but then advise the other state assemblymen that they must abide by what their party bosses tell them to do.

Also, there are those who still continue to play the race card, in this age and time.

At their party conferences each year, they play to the gallery by projecting themselves as the communal heroes.

But during the general election, they shamelessly become the true Malaysian leaders we dream of.

They greet their voters in Malay, English, Mandarin and Tamil; and if they can speak all these languages fluently, they would do so.

But for the rest of the five years until the next general election, they would insist only on one language for us.

Never mind if we all know that they send their children to boarding schools in England or Australia.

Some, it is said, have homes there, too.

Of course, they are upset if we do not send our children to national schools, questioning our loyalty to the country.

Suddenly, all these languages are used in posters, bunting and advertisements, and you wonder why Malaysia cannot be like this every day.

Why can’t we embrace such Malaysian features and why must multi-culturalism be acceptable only during election campaigns?

Such an unusual degree of tolerance and flexibility seems almost unbelievable.

Even PAS is prepared to stop talking about an Islamic state during the elections but throughout the next five years, we can be sure they will tell us how certain principles cannot be compromised on religious grounds.

Politicians are also busy visiting places of worship and meeting religious leaders, including those of other faiths.

Yet we know we will continue to grapple with various bureaucratic problems relating to faith issues because these same politicians will struggle to stand up for the rights of all citizens once the election season is over.

Fortunately, there are many who take their positions as MPs and assemblymen seriously. They work hard, help their constituents and speak with decorum.

They are a credit to their party and the people who voted them in.

How we wish we could have elections more regularly instead of just once every four or five years.

But hey, good things don’t happen every day.

Let’s enjoy all the attention while we still can.

It’s good to tell the politicians what we want once every four or five years and do our best to hold them to their promises – every single day.
